Video Log # 8 Last day in Brazil

It was just this morning that Nick and I were walking up the beach access of a fishing village bar, ordering a deep fried meat ball called a Quibe and drinking CocaCola out of a tall glass bottle.  Now I am finishing my lastest blog in an unconfortably cold and over developed Airport in Chicago.  So this video is paying respect to the natural beauty of Brazil.

Also, Nick and I had some fun boarding a plane straight from the tarmac in Ilheus.  Special thanks to Nick on the camera work, and Johnny Drama for the dialogue.  Enjoy!

Oh and Granny and Granddad, if you are watching, sorry for the profanity.

Video Log # 7

Only 3 days left in Brazil, and this is the grossest one yet!

Crazy Palm Tree Trimmer

This dude is insane, unfortunatlly i didn't get any footage of him actually cutting off any coconuts, but this video is still pretty nutty.  This guy only got 5 Reals per tree (thats about 3 dollars).  Too dangerous for my liking!

Video Log #6 - Road trip up the coast

In search of a Canadian bar in a town called Itacare, we head up north on a sweet ass road trip. Of course in classic Canadian fashion, it rained most of the way.

For your viewing pleasure, I left myself out of this one.

Rain Storms!

So due to a few torrential down pours in our area, our internet provider is down unfortunatly. So that being said, I am in a boiling hot internet cafe as we speak, trying to figure out how to upload my next 2 video blogs. it is not looking too promising. So I think i will have to wait untill our internet gets fixed before you can see my next installments. So untill then my friends, live long and laugh loud (made that up on the spot, not bad hmm). I miss Doritos, dry clothes, and white spot burgurs. just so you all know

The morning after...

So last night at about 10:30, after a few blender drinks and some ice cold beers, nick's mom takes us 10 minutes down the beach road to this GIGANTIC party.  Picture Beatty street in Vancvouer after a concert, for about a mile.  We walk through crowds and crowds of people and eventually decide to cut down to the water and start walking along the beach.  We thought the street was a party, I have never seen a beach like this in my life.  About a mile down from where we were was litterally a rave with close to 10,000 people on the beach.  closer to the shore there was a band, a ligth show, and 3 clubs (all with a 15 dollar cover, and a line up that would blow your mind) all containing another 3-5 thousand people.  So we decided to take the free option, grab some beach beers, and dance with the half naked locals in this mile stretch of oceanic rave.

We were discussing how we would know when midnight was (being that no one had a watch), but it turned out that we didn't need a watch at all.  The singer of the band started counting down in Portuguese, folowed by FELIZ ANO NOVO!! and a 15 minute firework display.

As the night wound down, nick and i decided that we were not finished partying.  so we took the 45 walk back home, grabbed the boogie boards, and went for a late night surf (yes mom, under the supervision of a buddy on the beach just incase something went down).

So happy new year, and here is a little video of the night I had.
